The Application Fee is INR 5000/- (Non-refundable) for Indian nationals and USD 150/- for NRI / Foreign Nationals/ Applications sent from outside India. The Indian national should pay the amount through NEFT and the NRI/ foreign nationals are supposed to make the payment by direct bank transfer. The bank account details are given in the 'Application Fee' section of the application.
Date of sending the hardcopy application form should be on or before Wednesday, 19 November 2025, which will be on the receipt of speed post or courier. Before sending the application form, a scan copy of the posting receipt is to be sent to vlmp@iitk.ac.in
The hard copy of the application should reach the Office of Outreach Activities (OOA), IIT Kanpur on or before Friday, 21 November 2025 (17:30 Hours) along with fee receipt, all self-attested testimonials, certificates and all supporting documents wherever required without which the application will not be considered.
Application Process:
Register on the website using the New Applicant Registration Form.
Fill the application form, which is divided in 9 sections.
Upload photograph and signature.
Pay the application fee through NEFT/Bank Transfer.
Select your desired examination center on the basis of your priority.
Check all details and submit your application using the "Preview & Final Submission".
Steps for filling Application Form
Step 1::
New applicants can register using the "New Applicant Registration Form".
The application will itself prompt if a particular login id is available or not
Fill in the form with the correct information and your login credentials will be sent to you via email
Step 2::
Applicant Profile Form: Fill in your personal details in this form. Kindly provide the correct details as present in your documents. All the * fields are mandatory. Study visit abroad is compulsory part of the program. Self-attested copy of the passport must be submitted with the application. After profile submission, the system will generate a unique reference number of your application.
Contact Information: Kindly provide your permanent, communication and company address. Avoid using special characters.
Application Fee Information: Kindly provide your complete transaction details like application fees (in Rs) and UTR number etc. in application fees sub section. During transaction, kindly mention your application ID (reflected on your application page) in the remark section of the bank payment page.
Application Category: (a) Self Sponsored (will resign): In case of candidates who plan to resign from service, letter of resignation and release from employer is to be produced in original on or before registration.
(b) Self Sponsored (on Study Leave): Candidates in service applying under this category must submit with application form, attested copy of the application for study leave bearing signature and seal of the employer along with letter or endorsement of consent of the employer on the application.
(c) Sponsored: Candidates applying under Sponsored category must submit letter of intent of sponsorship issued by the employer with the application form and submit attested copy of letter/bond from the employer containing the details of terms and conditions and extent of sponsorship on or before registration.
Academic Qualification: Kindly provide your academic qualification and GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) / GRE (Graduate Record Examination)[Taken within last 36 months] details in this section. Start from 10th to the highest degree attained. Please attach self-attested copies of transcripts of all examinations passed. Note: A GMAT/GRE score is not mandatory. It is optional.
Work Experience: Kindly provide your Current employer, current job and last pay details with job description (Please give a description of your exact job, including nature of work, major responsibilities etc.) in this section. Please attach self-attested copies of supporting documents with last pay certificate for the month preceding the month of submission of application.
Career Summary: Kindly mention your previous work experience. Please provide chronological details of your work experience. List your present position first. Kindly note that you will be required to submit a certificate of employment from your last employer in case you are granted admission.
Activities/Interests: Kindly provide your interests or activity list, in order of importance to you, any extra-curricular activities in which you are/have been involved (i.e., sports, politics, community activities, hobbies etc.). Mention your level of involvement in the activity as well.
References: Kindly provide name and contact information of two Referees who will provide the letter of Recommendation [Recommendation Letter Format]. A referee could be your mentor/supervisor from the last company you have worked for or someone from industry who is familiar with your professional achievements or a Professor or Teacher from a recent degree program you have completed, who knows you well. You will be solely responsible to ensure that the person you have mentioned provides the referral. Two letters of recommendation in the format given must be sent to the Institute within the application deadline date. The recommenders should separately seal the envelopes and sign on the flap.
Please list the name and complete address of each person to whom you have given a recommendation form. Each should be well acquainted with your intellectual abilities, academic performance, and personal character. At least one of these two letters should be by someone from industry who is familiar with your professional achievements. Please request the referees to mention your application id and your name at the top of the recommendation letter.
Upload Photograph and Signature: Upload your recent photograph and signature in this section(Scanned copy(maximum 40 KB) of colored passport sized photograph not older than six months and Signature). Only use .jpeg/.jpg/.png file format.
Examination Center: Kindly provide your examination center(New Delhi/Mumbai/Kolkata/Chennai) preference in this section.
Step 3::
Preview & Final Submission: Note that you will not be able to make any changes to the Application once it is submitted. We urge you to "Preview Application" very carefully before submitting it. The System will allow you to "View & Modify" the application multiple times before you "Final Submission" it. You can get the form preview in PDF from this page. Click "Final Submission" button to complete your application process.
After submission of the application form, the system will generate a unique reference number of your application that should be used for future correspondence. You are supposed to print the pdf of the completed application form generated by the system after submission, sign it, attach self-attested photocopies of the necessary documents along with the application fee receipt and send it to the Office of Outreach Activities of IIT Kanpur by speed post
