| Important Points |
- Only Indian citizens should apply using the website. If you are a foreign citizen please send an email to cogjet@iitk.ac.in giving your background details to see if you are eligible.
- The site works best with Mozilla, Chrome, Internet Explorer browsers.
- Provide genuine and accurate information. This will be used to contact you, to verify personal data and to create the admit card for the test.

| Application Process
|

|
- Register on the website then use the login ID, password you created to login.
- Fill the application form it has 5 sections then submit.
- Upload necessary documents.
- Pay the application fee using the payment gateway.
- Check all details and submit your application.

An application/registration number will be generated after step 2 but will be final only after you complete all 5 steps. This will be the unique reference number for your application for all queries.
Your application status changes from steps 2 to 5. The final status is 'Applied'. Unless your application status is 'Applied' it is not complete and will not be considered for further processing. The steps have to be done in order but can be done in multiple sessions. A single session should not exceed 60 minutes.

Step 1:
- You can apply only after registering on the website. Follow guidelines for login ID, password as given while registering.
His/Her userid and password confirmation will be sent to the applicant by E-mail intimation.

Step 2:
- Your name, date of birth, parent's full name should exactly match documents that you provide as proof. This verification will happen only if you are admitted.
- Properly fill in the fields for Category, Nationality, Person with Disability (PwD) and Marital status.
- Fill in contact details: address, email address, mobile and land line numbers. Ensure that email, and mobile/land line numbers are correct. All communication with candidates will be through email or when necessary mobile/land line.
- Complete the qualifying examination and other degree details. Note that eligibility to write the COGJET test does not automatically imply that you qualify for admission to the participating institutes. COGJET is necessary but not sufficient for admission. Check qualification criteria for admission on individual websites of participating institutes.

Step 3:
- Uplodad the following a) scanned good quality, recent colour photograph (jpg/png format, max size 40KB) b) scanned signature (jpg/png format, max size 40KB) c) other documents that may apply in your case (pdf format, 600KB). Note that a) and b) above are mandatory.

Step 4:
- Pay the applicable test fee using the payment gateway [Rs.300/- for SC/ST, OBC (Non-creamy layer), PwD, EWS, Female; Rs.500/- for all others].The fee is non-refundable

Step 5:
- Check your data and submit the application. When you login again you will see that your application status in 'Applied'.
