Foreign Language Programme (FLP) Admission Notice

    Online applications are invited for admission to the Foreign Language Program at IIT Kanpur for the 2019-20 academic sessions.

    Languages:
  • French Level-I & II (Basic & Advanced) - Only for IITK Students & IITK Employees/Wards
  • German Level-I & II(Basic & Advanced) - Only for IITK Students & IITK Employees/Wards
  • Japanese Level-I & II(Basic & Advanced) - Only for IITK Students & IITK Employees/Wards
  • Mandarin/Chinese Level-I (Basic) - Only for IITK Students & IITK Employees/Wards & Non-IITK (externals)

Admission Criteria:

► Minimum Academic Qualification for admission is HighSchool (10th standard)
► Admission will be done purely as per the following schedule. The list of selected candidates will be posted on the website of the FLP, IIT Kanpur on the given link (https://www.iitk.ac.in/new/foreign-language-programme).

    The interested Candidates to join Mandarin/Chinese level-I language please fill the offline form and submit in DOSA office. As per schedule given below:

The Classes of the FLP programme for upcoming sessions (2019-20) will begin on August 05th, 2019 (Monday). The Class timing and the location of the FLP classes will be published on FLP, IIT Kanpur webpage on August 01st 2019 https://www.iitk.ac.in/new/foreign-language-programme
 
    Fees Structure Category wise:
  1. IIT Kanpur Students             Rs. 4400/-
  2. IITK Employee/Ward            Rs. 5500/-
  3. External (Non- IIT Kanpur)   Rs. 11000/-
Note:-The fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
 

Availability of Seats:

    From the total seats available (given below), 50% is reserved for IITK students, 10% for IITK employees/wards, and 40% is open to non-IITK applicants.
  • French Level I:        200
  • German Level I:       300
  • Japanese Level I:    100
  • Mandarin/Chinese Level I:    100

    • There are 100 seats available for Level II in each of the three languages.

    Qualification & Eligibility:

    Minimum Academic Qualification for admission in any language is High school (10th Class) passed.

    Only French, German and Japanese level-1 & 2:

    Only Mandarin/Chinese level-1:

    All the aspirants/ candidates (including all A, B & C categories) are advised to use the following link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DV-tc1_9960HII6cJaeSY_poLX1-WiJ0/view?usp=sharing to obtain the form for applying: (Only Mandarin/Chinese level-1). The interested candidates are advised to submit the form duly filled up accompanying the Demand Draft in favour of FLP, IIT Kanpur. The other mode of payment is through NEFT, RTGS.     Step 1  Register through the  Online Portal. (Click on "Registration" link on the Home Page).
    Step 2  Login to the Online Portal with the registered User Id.
    Step 3  Fill in the required details in the form and submit.
    Step 4  View Saved/Submitted Applications Form in PDF format


    Note:
    • Photograph must be a recent passport style colour picture
    • Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50KB. If the size of the file is more than 50 KB, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI resolution, no. of colours etc., during the process of scanning.
    If you are shortlisted, application status will change with and you need to pay via SBI-icollect (SBI-i Collect) and you need to update payment information on online portal.
